ChinarPOS lets a merchant take cash and online payments. This page explains how online payments work and who is responsible for what.
1. Who processes online payments
UPI, card and net-banking payments are processed by a third-party payment partner, not by ChinarPOS. Customers pay through that partner's checkout, and money is settled to the merchant account set up with that partner.
To accept online payments, a merchant must complete the partner's verification. The partner decides whether to approve a merchant.
2. Fees
- The payment partner's processing charges are separate from the ChinarPOS subscription.
- Any ChinarPOS charge connected with online payments will be shown to you or agreed with you in writing before it applies.
3. Payment status and settlements
ChinarPOS shows whether each order is paid, pending or failed, and the Settlements report compares what each settlement should have paid with what it did. If a figure does not match, tell us and we will help trace it.
4. Refunds and store credit
A merchant decides whether to refund an order. A refund goes back the way the money was paid: online payments to the original payment, cash as cash. For a registered customer, a merchant can instead refund to store credit. Refund receipts are issued for refunds.
5. Disputes and chargebacks
If a customer disputes an online payment with their bank or card issuer, the dispute follows the payment partner's and the networks' rules. The merchant is responsible for responding to it. We provide the order and payment records to help.
6. Cash and other payments
ChinarPOS records cash and till movements, but cash handling and any payment taken outside ChinarPOS remain the merchant's responsibility.
